Washougal resident, Kristine Grindy, has been hired as the next Washougal School District Business Manager. The WSD Board of Directors approved her hiring at their regular board meeting on May 8, 2018. Grindy will begin her new position on July 1, 2018, as Larry Mayfield moves to Wenatchee School District as the Executive Director of Business and Finance.
Grindy currently works at ESD 112 as the Business Manager for Stevenson-Carson School District, a position she has held for the past three years. She has also served as the Business Manager for a number of smaller school districts through her role at ESD 112, including Mount Pleasant, Mill A, White Salmon Valley, and Wahkiakum.
“I am honored to join the Washougal School District Team as the Director of Business Services,” said Grindy. “The skills I have developed over the past 13 years at ESD 112 have shown me the importance of being a part of something bigger than myself. I enjoy the challenges of school district finance and the amazing work relationships that I have formed throughout my career in education. I appreciate the opportunity to serve in such a wonderful community!”
Grindy attended Warner Pacific College, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a second major in Business Administration. She brings extensive experience working with staff to ensure fiscal compliance and has experience supervising federal, state, and local funding sources. She has also helped districts ensure fiscal procedures comply with audit requirements.
