Clark County Public Works Continues Hold on Park and Shelter Reservations Until February 2021

Submitted by Clark County

With the uncertainty around how public-gathering regulations will unfold over the next several months, Clark County Public Works has made the difficult decision to extend the temporary pause on new picnic shelter reservations and park use permits until February 1, 2021. As part of Gov. Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order, gatherings for those counties in Phase 2 must remain under five. Not accepting new reservations for park areas helps ensure those guidelines are being followed.

County leadership will re-evaluate local and state guidelines by February 1 to determine if reservations will be accepted, or if the pause will be extended. Customers with reservations in 2021 can cancel them for a refund. If public gathering sizes do not change in 2021, all reservations on books will be canceled administratively.

“We understand the frustration this causes,” said Parks and Lands Manager, Galina Burley. “We want to make sure we are doing our part to help this community move forward to the next phase while also protecting the health and safety of our community and employees.”

Clark County joins several other jurisdictions around the county and state who have put reservations on pause through the winter.
