A Different Kind of Circus Event in Vancouver

Dreamland brings together flying aerialists, tumbling acrobats, full-of-fun storytelling, and a cast of amusingly unconventional performers who keep the atmosphere lively and funny with just a bit of the absurd.

Instead of a distant arena show, Shoestring Circus guests can expect an intimate, up-close performance where every extravagant stunt leaves spectators wide-eyed. Dreamland is filled with unforgettable moments that feel close enough to touch.

Beneath the big top, audiences will be surrounded by a whimsical atmosphere that makes this type of entertainment feel truly special. A trip to Dreamland is the perfect way to add a little wonder to the summer calendar and create memories everyone will be talking about long after the final bow.

The Amazing Cast of Dreamland with Shoestring Circus

This year’s cast brings together artists from across North America and Europe, including award-winning aerialist and contortionist Ilse Baryshnikov, Cirque Du Soleil alum Nick Ng and Fleuriane Cornet, and artists from Broadway including Isabella Diaz and Caroline Kane.

Guests will love to see Matthew “Poki” McCorkle, whose remarkable balancing acts blend precision, suspense, and playful showmanship that transforms ordinary objects.

“We’re excited to return to Vancouver after such a warm welcome last year,” says Justin Therrien, co-owner and performer with Shoestring Circus. “Dreamland is our most ambitious production yet, and we can’t wait to share it with audiences at Hazel Dell Commons.”

Justin also takes the stage as a mime and hat juggler, adding expressive physical comedy, quick-handed tricks, and playful character work to Dreamland’s lively mix of circus artistry.

The production also features actress Britt Lower, known for her starring role in the acclaimed television series Severance. After appearing in person with Shoestring Circus during the company’s 2024 season, Lower returns to Dreamland as a featured voice performer.
