Battle Ground local pub will be celebrating their 6th year in business on November 11, 2017. Owner, Russell Brent, plans to celebrate this date honoring Veterans and active duty service members. The restaurant will not be serving their usually brunch menu that Saturday, but offer a pancake, egg and sausage meal at no charge to Veterans and active duty. Military ID requested to be provided by guest. Other guests will pay $11.00 for the meal. Event will run from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Veteran’s Day.
Each year on the pub’s anniversary, Brent gathers the coins from the wishing well at the base of the infamous water wheel and donates to charity. This year’s recipient will be Battle Ground Education Foundation. Established in 1994, the Battle Ground Education Foundation is an all-volunteer, non-profit community organization whose purpose is to leverage community resources to help maintain quality education for all students in Battle Ground schools.
The foundation was created as an independent organization working to support our community schools through programs and resources designed to enhance student opportunities.
Funds raised through individual donations, service organizations, and local businesses are paid forward in the form of support for needy students and school projects and programs.
There will be an online contest on the pub’s Facebook page where guests are encouraged to guess the amount drawn from the well. The closest guest will win a $100 gift certificate from Mill Creek Pub.
