Nothing says summer like hot dogs, root beer and fireworks! Celebrate the 4th of July in Vancouver with the 56th Annual Vancouver Firework Spectacular. The entire family will have fun celebrating Independence day wtih some old fashioned fun.
The firework show at Fort Vancouver is famous and gets bigger each year. Set to a synchronized soundtrack, this free event lasts about 20 minutes and starts after dark, around 10:05 p.m. The fireworks are not visible from Clark College, the Columbia River or Portland, so you need to make your way to the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. Gates open at 8:00 a.m. for those who want to explore the fort, but recommended arrival is 5:00 p.m. There is food and drink to purchase or bring your own, but no alcohol may be brought in. Before the fireworks, there will be live music as well as The Bull radio station keeping you entertained. You may tour the different houses and buildings at the Fort and watch living history demonstration throughout the day.
C-Tran will be running two free shuttles to the event starting at 6:00 p.m., one from Fisher’s Landing Transit Center and on from the 99th Street Transit Center, with return service. For more information visit The Historic Trust website.
