Downtown Camas First Friday in June will go virtual and include games, scavenger hunts and family friendly activities each day on Facebook starting Sunday May 31 and running through First Friday June 5. New activities, all with a Unicorn & Rainbow theme, will be posted daily on the Downtown Camas First Friday Facebook page with instructions on how to participate. There will be winners chosen from those who post on the activities. At 5:00 p.m. on First Friday, there will be a Facebook Live event on the Downtown Camas First Friday Facebook page announcing the winners from the week and offering more opportunities to win for watching and participating.
Downtown merchants continue to be involved with First Friday activities. On Thursday and Friday there will be a Virtual Downtown Scavenger Hunt Passport activity where you go to the websites of participating businesses and “hunt” for the answers to the questions on the passport. You write down each answer on the passport and the passport enters you to win downtown merchant prizes and gift cards compliments of the Downtown Camas Association. You will learn more about what the businesses offer and each merchant will also have a discount or promotional code posted on their website to give an extra bonus when you visit to encourage shopping.

Sunday, May 31 – Unicorn and Rainbow Crossword puzzle/Word Search
Monday, June 1 – Unicorn Seek and Find
Tuesday, June 2 – Pick a Unicorn and post a picture of something magical.
Wednesday, June 3 – Can you find it? Find the themed items drawn in the picture. (Just like Where’s Waldo but Unicorn and Rainbow themed)
Thursday, June 4 – Create a rainbow from scavenged items in your house and post the picture
Friday, June 5 – Merchant Scavenger Hunt Passport – Visit participating merchant websites to answer questions from the passport. Learn about the merchant and items they carry. BONUS: You will also find a discount or promo code for shopping at that business.
In addition to the week-long activities, Attic Gallery and Camas Gallery will each be hosting a Facebook Live virtual art tour on their Facebook pages with new art revealed on First Friday evening. Check their Facebook pages for event times.
“Our first virtual First Friday ‘week’ in May was a hoot!” says Carrie Schulstad, director for the DCA. “We found out what people liked the best, refined our technology skills and we’re adapting to add even more fun! We’re learning as we go and we appreciate everyone playing along. Unicorns and Rainbows is a pretty easy theme to create fun with and we’ll even have some surprise activities this month so stay tuned! Our goal is to keep people connected with Downtown Camas and enjoying engaging with each other even if not in the same place! We can’t wait to all be back together downtown but this will do for now!”

Two lucky winners will also be drawn from all of the entries of the First Friday activities to each win a Unicorn and Rainbow themed basket filled with $50 in gift cards to Downtown Camas shops and restaurants and other prizes. The Downtown Camas Association and sponsors are donating all the gift card prizes to support downtown businesses during this time.
