December First Friday will bring both virtual and in-person winter fun for the entire family to Downtown Camas. Winter themed virtual activities will be posted on the First Friday Facebook page all week and then on First Friday, 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., downtown merchants will host a cookie walk and downtown windows will be decorated in a Winter Wonderland theme and you can vote for your favorite to be entered to win prizes. After-hours holiday shopping, art shows and downtown winter photo op displays will also be part of the fun.
A new game or activity will be posted on the Downtown Camas First Friday Facebook Page every morning November 29 – December 4 and the winners from the activities throughout the week will be announced on the Facebook Live event on First Friday at 5:00 p.m. Winners receive downtown gift cards and prizes. Those watching will have many chances to win for commenting during the Facebook Live.
First Friday is right in the middle of the Winter Wonderland in Downtown Camas event, twelve days of winter-inspired downtown activities from December 1-12. Visit link for all the info.
“Our December First Friday looks different of course this year so we’ve created new fun and memorable things to do in Downtown Camas,” says Carrie Schulstad, executive director of the Downtown Camas Association (DCA). “We have new opportunities for engagement and who doesn’t love a cookie walk! We are very grateful to Maria Stefanovic of Laser & Stitches for volunteering her time and talent to provide the whimsical displays for photo ops. You will love finding the different pieces tucked throughout town. Activities can be done socially distanced and at your own pace while taking in the charm and beauty of Downtown Camas during the holidays. In-town activities on First Friday, 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Start at the DCA table by Papermaker Pride, 339 NE 4th, to pick up your passport:
- Cookie Walk in Downtown Shops: Pick up a “Cookie Bag” at the DCA table & fill it with a free wrapped cookie from each participating location while you shop
- Winter Wonderland Window Displays: Vote for your favorite & be entered to win prizes. Kids can also find the hidden woodland animal in each window.
- Snowman & Winter Photo Ops in town: Find nutcracker characters, woodland animals, snowmen, penguins and more throughout downtown.
- Art shows at Camas Gallery, 408 NE 4th, and Attic Gallery, 421 NE Cedar, and after-hours holiday shopping & dining

Tuesday – Pick & Pic–Pick your favorite snowman and then post a pic of you having fun in the snow or a picture of a fun snow scene

Thursday – Post your favorite Holiday Cookie Recipe
Friday – Virtual “Elf on the Shelf” Merchant Passport
You have until 3:00 p.m. on First Friday to complete each of the daily activities to be entered to win downtown gift cards and prizes sponsored by the Downtown Camas Association and Bear Insurance. You have until 9pm on First Friday to post your in-store merchant passport to be entered to win.

First Fridays are Art, Activities, Dining, and After Hours Shopping themed family friendly events coordinated by the DCA each month of the year to support downtown and develop community and are being held partially virtually until fully in-person First Friday events are again possible.
