Friendly unicorns, colorful crafts and goodies, Unicorn & Rainbow activities, a ribbon cutting, a new store opening, art shows and after hours shopping will all come together to create fun for all ages on downtown Camas First Friday June 4, 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
The First Friday passport activity is the “Unicorn & Rainbow Sticker Challenge”. Find Eunice the Unicorn, see the “clue” she’s sitting next to and add the corresponding sticker to the participating business spot on the passport. Passports and sticker sheets can be picked up at Papermaker Pride, 339 NE 4th. Post your completed passport on the First Friday Facebook page post by Saturday the 5th at noon and be entered to win Unicorn & Rainbow prizes from downtown. The more places you go, the more chances you have to win.
A new store with experienced operators is opening its doors in Downtown Camas on First Friday. Golden Ladder Interiors will be located at 321 NE 4th, right next door to the Liberty Theatre, and will carry home décor, gifts, novelty items and jewelry. They will also be promoting in-home interior design consultations as well as interior/exterior paint consultations, furniture placement and contracting services. They also have a store location in Longview, WA and have been serving clients since 1994.

- Attic Gallery, 421 NE Cedar, will feature new art by Janey Belozer and Tommer Gonser
- Camas Gallery, 408 NE 4th, will feature caricature artist, Peter O’Brien who creates his art on the spot
- Take your picture with a friendly unicorn next to Camas Slices at 4th & Cedar and at Lara Blair Photography, 411 NE Dallas, from 6 p.m.-7 p.m.
- Ribbon Cutting at 5 p.m. for the new Moonlight Salon location at 303 NE 6th (in the new Clara Flats building)
- FREE Unicorn Kids’ Craft at LiveWell Camas, 417 NE Birch, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Free kids’ unicorn & rainbow goodie bags as well while supplies last!
- Dressing in unicorn and rainbow attire is encouraged
- After hours shopping, dining and specials throughout town
Themed Unicorn & Rainbow virtual activities on the Downtown Camas First Friday Facebook page will start on Monday May 31 and you can win downtown gift cards and other prizes for participating. You have until 3pm on First Friday to complete. The winners of each activity will be posted on the Facebook Page at 5 p.m. on First Friday.
“This has to be one of the most silly (in a good way) and festive First Fridays we host!” says Carrie Schulstad, director for the DCA. “We’re excited to welcome a new shop, Golden Ladder Interiors, and see all the quality products and services they’ll be bringing to downtown. This event is all about enjoying Downtown Camas together and bringing that little extra bit of fun and magic to the experience. We encourage you to dress up in the theme and come on down and support our downtown small businesses. We have a few surprises up our sleeve so you won’t want to miss it!”
First Fridays are Art, Activities, Dining, and After Hours Shopping themed family friendly events coordinated by the DCA each month of the year to support downtown and develop community and are being held in-person along with virtual activities throughout the week.
