When Magenta Theater’s former house band (Bad Agent) left in 2013 to pursue non-theatrical music opportunities, Jaynie Roberts, Artistic Director for Magenta, vowed that one day Magenta would have another band. The theme of desiring a band, runs through the script of Dead Beats, except in this fantastical tale, it is Professor Frankenvalley wanting one. Why? To participate in the Transylvania Music Festival, of course!
The band plays a variety of Halloween-appropriate songs and there is family-friendly banter to accompany the numerous dance numbers. The only real thing missing is a lead singer for the band.
