The convention is the Annual District Contest for barbershop choruses and quartets from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alberta, British Columbia, and Alaska. All the competitors have competed in their own division to qualify for this event.
The convention is in different locations every year, and this is only the second time it has been held in Vancouver. The Barbershop Harmony Society is a non-profit organization.
