June 14, 1777, the day the United States adopted her flag. Help celebrate Flag Day with a free family event at Fort Vancouver, June 14, 2018 at 5:00 PM.
Participate in a Flag Day Ceremony with a presentation of the colors by the 142 FW Base Honor Guard, National Anthem performance by Northwest Harmony Chorus, raising of the Garrison flag (largest American flag used by the Army) by the National Parks Service, US History Quiz (Sunset Elementry 5th grade students vs. Clark County Mayors) and the annual Clark County Mayor Patriotic Tie Contest.
Following the ceremony, there will be kids activities such as learning proper flag etiquette, singing patriotic songs, marching and a tour of a historic landmark. Snacks will also be provided.
You also have the opportunity to exchange your old flags for new ones June 11 – 15, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at 610 Esther Street, Suite 101. All old flags will be accepted for retirement. New flags will be available while supplies last.
