Big Color, Big Art, and Big Fun will fill Downtown Camas during the Picnic in Color, a family-friendly, art-focused event slated for Sunday, July 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Brought to you by Shanahan Farmers Insurance, Carla Edwards, Realtor, Craft Warehouse, The Wild Hair and organized by Downtown Camas Association (DCA), this event will provide free arts and crafts activities for kids, art demos, music and food vendors for picnicking. Admission is free.
Families are encouraged to come enjoy the Picnic in Color as it’s taking place Sunday of the Camas Days Weekend. There will be a plethora of fun activities, all revolving around art and community. Children will create small pieces of art, which will become a larger piece of collaborative art to be displayed in the community following Picnic in Color. Youngsters will also be given the opportunity to create a piece of art they can take home. They will be painting, crafting and molding with clay. Local artists, Anna Norris, Ted Norris, Heidi Curley, Tommer Gonser, Karen Weiss and others will help the kids with their masterpieces (which will be painted using a pizza box easel).
For this family-friendly event, bring your picnic baskets or purchase food from our vendors and downtown restaurants, as tables will be available for enjoying delicious food together. Enjoy the picnic lunch right on our quaint, tree-lined streets. The event will be held on 4th Ave between Birch St. and Cedar St. and on Cedar between 4th and 5th Avenues. Come to 4th and Cedar to get started.
We are all encouraged to wear bright colors, as the streets will be lined with colorful decorations adding to the vibrancy of this event. Win raffle tickets for fun prize baskets for wearing bright colors, too!
