Three Washougal High School students were selected to participate in Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA) All State Choirs that will be performing at the Yakima Convention Center in February.

WHS junior, Taylor Vincent, will be a part of the Treble Choir, while senior Courtney Dillman and junior Jayden Ross will participate in the Symphonic Choir.  “I am excited to meet new people from around the state and be a part of such a large choir,” said Ross.

Each student submitted voice recordings singing scales and songs to be consider for selection.  These students will join 250-300 other students from throughout the state at the conference and concerts in Yakima from February 14-16, 2020.

“For me, it is just exciting to know our kids are performing at a level where they are qualifying for All-State,” said WHS choir teacher, Jeremy Totten.  “It has been a few years since Washougal choirs were represented in this event.  I can’t wait for our students to work with this year’s guest conductor, and to be able to share with the rest of our program all that they learned and experience.  These are three very deserving students for their talent and all they do for the WHS choral department.”
