School is back in session, which means Halloween and fall are just around the corner, and both of those mean pumpkins! Visiting a local farm makes picking out the perfect pumpkin fun, with plenty of family-friendly fall activities available as well. Here are the 2024 pumpkin patches in Vancouver, Washington, and throughout Clark County.

Tips for visiting local pumpkin patches:

  • Early in the season will give you the best selection.
  • Go early in the morning to avoid the crowds.
  • Put cardboard or plastic garbage bags in your car to keep it clean.
  • Wear comfortable shoes for walking.
  • Be ready for the weather: that could mean sunscreen or an umbrella and a raincoat!
  • Bring cash, though some accept cards, it’s good to be prepared.
  • Bring gloves.

The Bi-Zi Farms Pumpkin Patch in Vancouver, Washington, has tons of pumpkins and a whole lot more! Purchase your admission ticket online before heading out to this pumpkin patch! Entry includes one free pumpkin of any size you can carry, corn maze, pumpkin launchers, farm animals, apple cider sampling and one free hot drink. Children’s activities that are included with admission are a hay maze, play area, pyramid, calf roping station, hippity hop races and a corn shelling and grinding station. On Friday and Saturday, they have live music. Also on Friday and Saturday nights, they have a corn maze from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., which requires special admission. Pumpkin Lane at Pomeroy Farm is a tradition that every family needs to experience, even if you already have your pumpkins! Pumpkin Lane features over 100 pumpkin figures lining their mile-long drive. They also have photo ops, farm animals, a blacksmith shop and tasty snacks. And of course, you can pick out pumpkins to bring home with you too!

Whalen Oaks Farm is a pumpkin patch in Woodland that is carrying on the legacy created by The Patch. You will find over 60 varieties of pumpkins and other squashes, as well as gourds on this 40-acre farm. They have u-pick in the fields, or shop from the pre-picked bins. Admission and parking is free.

In addition to a lovely selection of pumpkins, Whalen Oaks Farms has a five-acre corn maze, a one-acre corn maze, a hay maze and a hay pyramid for your family to enjoy. On the weekends there is pumpkin bowling and hay rides (weather permitting).

On October 5-6, they will be having their Fall Fest, with food, drinks and vendors! When you are feeling hungry, they will have food vendors that rotate depending on the day, check the Whalen Oaks Farm website for details.

Dogs are welcome, but must remain on leash at all times and please pick up after them. Professional photographers can arrange a time to use the farm as a backdrop.
