Martin Luther King Jr. Day: A Day On, Not a Day Off

The Water Center celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, observed on the third Monday of January, by hosting a volunteer event. Volunteers often help clean the beach, remove non-native plants (like ivy) or plant new native shrubs or bushes. We typically provide tools and gloves, but ask that participants wear long pants and closed toed shoes.

This is always a family-friendly event, but we ask that children be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All ages and abilities welcome.
