The Nutcracker – presented by Friends of Danceworks

The largest dance studio in Vancouver will stage a lavish production of “The Nutcracker” ballet again this holiday season, complete with a return of the aerial silks acrobats that have wowed the audience in years past. Vancouver City Ballet’s production with more than 90 student dancers ages 5-18 and 15 adult dancers will take place Dec. 8-10 at Prairie High School. This is the fifth year of “The Nutcracker” presented by Friends of Danceworks, which is the non profit arm of DanceWorks/ Vancouver City Ballet.

DanceWorks is an East Vancouver dance studio that teaches many styles, and Vancouver City Ballet, its affiliated studio focuses on classical ballet. Choreographers are studio director Karen Cannon, Julia Ostrovskaia, Alyssa Hofmann & Tiffany Schmeling. Proceeds will go to Friends of DanceWorks, a non profit providing scholarships for local dancers.
