Ten sets of small tables and chairs were created by craftsmen and given to generous artists to create their own representations of what early learning means for youngsters. The pieces are now on display at eight locations throughout Vancouver.
The tables and chairs were created by Friends of the Carpenter and were blank canvasses for the artists. In total, 11 artists, including one husband and wife team, transformed the sets into works of art.

The tables and chairs will be on display until they will be moved to Divine Consign for a culminating event on First Friday, April 6. SELF is hosting Our Children Can’t Wait, tables, chairs and early learning from 5 to 8 p.m. Guests that evening will have a chance to bid on the sets through a silent auction style process. Bidding will end at 7:30 p.m.
Along with First Friday event goers, some of the artists will be available to greet guests and talk about their projects. Music and refreshments also will be available.
Proceeds for the event will benefit the goal of all children safe, healthy, loved and ready on the first day of school.
