Camas Girls’ Night Out Promises Fun and Camaraderie for a Worthy Cause

The 13th annual Camas Girls’ Night Out  will be a vibrant evening of shopping, pampering, art, dining and much more, all benefiting two local women’s health charities. The event is on Thursday, September 22 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Downtown Camas. Everyone is welcome to attend this fundraiser for breast and ovarian cancer awareness and action in support of  the Pink Lemonade Project  and the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Oregon/SW Washington. Advance tickets are $20, or $25 at the door.

The “Self-Care Suite” is a newly added element to this year’s event. Located inside the beautiful lobby at  Fuel Medical, the suite will be filled with local wellness and beauty merchants offering complimentary services to make event goers feel pampered and cared for. Phaysone Skin Care will offer eyebrow threading while sharing their line of products that encourage skincare for everyone. Livewell Camas, a Downtown Camas yoga studio and wellness space, will share breathing exercises, chair massage, and relaxing yoga poses. A zero-gravity chair with an LED light therapy mat will be provided by local wellness center Peace Yourself Together. These are just a few of the beauty and wellness offerings available that evening. The space will be filled with flowers provided by local florist Coventry Gardens of London, and music in the Self-Care Suite will be provided by jazz guitarist Bret Malmquist.

Attendees can purchase specialty cocktails at the Pink Lemonade Stand inside Lily Atelier,  hosted by and benefiting the Pink Lemonade Project. They will also be hosting the “Bra Pong” game, a longtime crowd favorite. Fun games and activities will be stationed throughout Downtown, as well as raffles for a variety of prizes including a $500 Downtown Camas gift card tree, donated by local merchants. DJ Linus will be back again this year creating an upbeat music experience for evening. This year will also bring the return of the not-to-be missed end of evening program emceed by Shannon Van Horn. She will be hosting popular games including What’s in Your Purse and Boobs & Ovaries, Camas Girls’ Night Out version of Heads or Tails.

Other activities for all that register include:

  • A free colorful GNO shopping bag to fill with goodies from merchants around town
  • Fashion Show hosted by Arktana at 6pm at Juxtaposition, 425 NE 4th
  • Body Art by Blue Lotus Henna and Earth Fairy Body Art
  • Swag Wagon Fun about town filled with fun giveaways
  • Girly Photo Booth in Lara Blair Photography–4-6pm special photography for survivors; 6-8pm for all
  • Collaborative Art by Elida Field with Tamra Sheline where guests are encouraged to add to the art
  • Wine & Chocolate Tastings at Salud Wine Bar located at 224 NE 3rd Avenue
  • Salsa Classes at VEGA, located at 240 NE 3rd Avenue
  • Wear PINK or TEAL and get a free raffle ticket
  • Treats, Goodies and Freebies

Advance tickets $20, $25 at the door, purchase advance tickets here. Event day registration starts at 3 p.m. at the Downtown Camas Association tables located at 4th and Birch in Journey Church. Advance ticket holders also check in here to receive a schedule of activities for the evening as well as other goodies. Cancer survivors receive a special gift with registration.

There is free public parking for the event in the City parking lot on Adams between 6th and 7th Avenues and throughout Downtown Camas. If you’re being dropped off at this event, there will be a special drop off location in front of truly scrumptious, at 231 NE 4th Avenue.
